From Myvatn we drove on towards Dettifoss - it was an incredibly scary drive over an ice sheet road, but we took it slow and made it there safe. From the car park we followed some coloured trail sticks - mostly buried in snow - towards Europe's largest (by volume of water) waterfall. It really is an impressive sight - though difficult to get a close up photograph of due to the large amounts of spray!! You can feel the power of the water and it is a roar of sound. Fantastic!
We arrived in the gorgeous village of Seydisfjordur later that afternoon and had a pleasant time exploring the nearby hills and getting some great shots of the village. We even found a campervan that had been turned into a sauna! We headed to Skatafell Bistro for a really delicious pizza that oven in really snug surroundings playing backgammon with some red wine. Divine!
