Day 1

We arrived in Ljubljana mid-afternoon and headed straight to the central and beautiful square, Preservov trg. We crossed Triple Bridge and wandered down the River enjoying soaking up the atmosphere and taking in the gorgeous surroundings of the city. We visited Dragon Bridge and wandered through the Old Town, taking our time to relax and enjoy some coffee and ice cream and riverside cafes. We also found a little teahouse in old town, called Cajna Hisa which was really cute!

Day 2

We began the day by trekking up Castle Hill and visiting Ljubljana Castle. The area surrounding the castle is lovely and climbing to the top of the watchtower gives beautiful views down to Old Town and across the river. There is also a virtual museum which gives a short, engaging video on Ljubljana's history. In the afternoon we hired bicycles to explore the city further. We rode through the newer parts of town and round Park Tivoli. We also stopped at Neboticnik - which is an art-deco skyscraper with a cafe terrace on top for superb views across the city.
