We arrived in Piran in the afternoon and fell in love straight away with the picturesque Old Town and it felt nice to be at the sea! We spent a leisurely afternoon wandering the streets, the harbour, and sitting have drinks in the big central square. We were treated to live performances on the square in the evening too!
We spent the morning across the Italian border in Trieste, again, we were so close, we felt it would be rude not to! And I am so glad we did, it was a beautiful city.
Arriving back in the afternoon we took a dip in the sea and relaxed on our sunbeds. For our final evening we went to the rooftop bar of Hotel Piran for cocktails with a view and a sunset.
We drove back to Ljubljana but not without visiting Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle. Out of both sets of caves Postojna were the most fun, firstly you have to get on a little train to get to the walking tour which whizzes you through the cave systems, and secondly, photographs are allowed!
Predjama Castle is like something out of a Disney film... seriously! A castle in a cliff face - we just need an evil witch and a dragon.
